FAQs About Shoulder Pain & Treatment
When should I see a doctor about shoulder pain?
If your shoulder pain lasts more than a few weeks, is getting worse, or stops you from doing normal activities (like getting dressed or sleeping comfortably), it’s a good idea to get it checked.
How do I know if my rotator cuff is torn?
A torn rotator cuff can cause weakness, pain when lifting your arm, and difficulty reaching behind your back. If you’re struggling with overhead movements or your shoulder feels weak, a specialist assessment can help.
What treatments are available for shoulder pain?
Treatment depends on the cause but may include physiotherapy, steroid injections, keyhole surgery (arthroscopy), or, in severe cases, joint replacement surgery.
Will my shoulder pain go away on its own?
Some mild shoulder pain can improve with rest and exercises, but ongoing or worsening pain often needs medical attention to prevent long-term damage.
