Meet Mr Matthew Barrett

Matthew graduated from Cardiff Medical School and completed his higher orthopaedic surgical training in the Wessex region, followed by specialist fellowships in Shoulder and Elbow surgery in Bournemouth and Auckland, New Zealand. As an NHS Orthopaedic Consultant at Dorset County Hospital, he specializes in shoulder, elbow, and trauma surgery while also engaging in teaching and research. Mr. Barrett sees private patients in Dorchester, Poole, and Bournemouth for consultations and surgeries. Outside of work, he enjoys running, kitesurfing, and sea swimming, which deepens his understanding of his patients' needs. With expertise in the latest surgical techniques, he is committed to providing tailored solutions and the highest standard of care, all while embracing the coastal lifestyle of Dorset.

There is plenty of parking available for patients and the hospital is situated just off the A35 and Herringston Road making it accessible for those within, or just outside of Dorchester. We offer weekly clinics to suit you!
